Sylvester is a devoted entrepreneur who serves in a diverse range of fields that relates to economic development, political consulting, strategic planning, fundraising, public speaking, community & human rights advocacy, and security / Intel solutions-between Africa and the United States where he has been serving the American community for over two decades in different capacities at local, state, federal and international arena. Sylvester created several job opportunities in the private security industry especially to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of immigrants and under-privileged families by providing them much needed employment opportunity. He founded Watchman Protective Services, Inc., a multi-faceted private security, private investigation & private detective agency he proudly owned and operated from 2004 to 2013 in the DMV region. A senior Partner at Strategic Groups USA, LLC / Strategic Overseas Ltd _ an international consulting firm.
Organizes trainings, symposiums, seminars, investment research/summits educating US-Africa business community about the importance of entrepreneurial and inter-trade diplomacy in our prevailing diverse society. Instrumental in organizing business trade mission to Africa, invites/hosts delegation of leaders from government and private sectors across Africa to participate on investment summits/conferences in the US. Speaks across the United States on the subject "The role entrepreneurs and Diaspora can play in promoting diplomacy, Development and Peace building in Africa." Sylvester has worked tirelessly to champion many causes dear to African immigrant community on economic, legislative, social, political, immigration, community mobilization/engagements, family counseling, culture, education, civic rights and youth motivation, fought against African student bulling etc. September 2013 he spearheaded an immigration reform advocacy to The US House of Representatives, The US Senate and The Congressional Black caucus where his delegation met face to face with several United States lawmakers presenting issues of specific concern to African Diaspora community on the Capitol Hill in Washington D,C.
In 2009 Sylvester received Governor’s citation from Maryland Governor’s office on Minority Business, The Montgomery County Executive honored Sylvester with 2013 African Heritage Community Economic Empowerment Award, He received Democratic party of Maryland Distinguished lifetime Leadership honor for his devoted, dedicated and tireless services, up & beyond expectations. He received Nigerian centenary award, In 2016 he received a multiple award: African community "People's Champion award" and Nigerian community award. 2017 multiple award: Outstanding Nigerian in Diaspora award, and African community leadership award in the Nollywood USA Who Is Who magazine. Sylvester currently serve as member of Board of Director to numerous national and international organizations such as: Communities without Boundary International (CWBI), Institute Information Management(IIM-Africa), Senior Advisor on Africa @ Milspray Military Technologies, Proud partner to Security Solutions International (SSI), Dream Flights International, The Maryland Sister State Program, Former Executive Committee of Maryland Democratic party...and more.
Over the years, Sylvester has cultivated a world-wide network of support with local, state and federal lawmakers, business/corporate executives, faith-base leaders, academicians & institution of learning, the diplomatic community in Washington, civil society and people of all walks of life. Sylvester is Visiting Scholar with George Mason University the largest public research institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia, interested in researching the African Diaspora’s involvement in the American political system, and the interface between African immigrant entrepreneurs and American politics…to highlight their ever-increasing contributions across the nation. He is also an International Chaplain and Ambassador At Large with Covenant University and Seminary at Houston Texas USA.
Sylvester played role with IREX in the selection of young African leaders who benefited from President Obama’s signature program “YALI” now named Mandela Washington fellowship. Sylvester spearheaded the AGOA International Trade & Commerce Fact Finding Workshop held at the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan New York which brought government and private delegations from across africa to New York.
Sylvester served 17 years as an immigration officer in Nigeria, he had lived few years in Europe prior to migration to the United States. He proudly holds dual citizenship of Nigeria and the United States respectively. He is popularly known as "Peoples Diplomat"
