About UN Women

UN Women is the United Nations organization dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women works to support inter-governmental bodies to establish global norms and standards and with member states, civil society, the UN systems and other parnters to realize these commitments. Focus areas include women's economic empowerment, political participation and leadership, and ending violence against women. Present in over  80 countries worldwide, UN Women also has a universal mandate.

Innovation is critical to changing the status quo around negative gender norms and for shifting current (and very far off) trajectories on realizing gender equality. UN Women is committed to ensuring that women innovators and entrepreneurs are supported in developing solutions that enlarge their own opporunities and meet our collective global development goals. UN Women also hopes to support the broader innovation ecosystem to design inclusive and gender responsive solutions.
