About The Samburu Project
The Samburu Project works with the people of the Samburu Tribe in Kenya’s Samburu District. Founded in 2005, The Samburu Project’s primary focus is to provide clean, safe drinking water as a foundation for further development. Due to chronic drought conditions, Samburu communities are susceptible to food insecurity causing malnutrition and significant health risks. Women and girls spend the majority of their days in search of water, walking up to 12 miles every day. In 2015 The Samburu Project is embarking upon its 10th round of well drilling aiming to deliver 12 new wells to the communities of Samburu.
