In response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Korea has devised an effective strategy for massive diagnostic testing with an inherent protective measure of segregation. Specimen collection for COVID-19 requires heavy personal protective equipment (PPE) which is exhausting for the examiner and difficult to manage during mass screening. However, the Glove-Wall system for respiratory specimen collection has improved examiner's safety, minimized their PPE requirement, and limited their exposure to examinees. There are three features of the Glove Wall System, as shown below,

● The examiners and examinees can be completely separated by the acrylic wall with fixed medical gloves
● The aerosol and splash from the patients cannot be spread because of its isolated space under negative pressure
● It can be easily applicable in different situations as needed.

The Glove-Wall System was designed by the SMG-SNU Boramae Medical Center and manufactured by Green Puretech.
Since its use was first reported on 10th February 2020 in the literature, the system has been adopted by all the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s hospitals and public health centers.
