Teletera is a video conference platform with a build algorithm that makes the conference works even at low bandwidth. It is used to connect schools and universities together especially in rural and underserve areas to enhance the educational process.

The main service is a video conference platform (software) that can run either on a computer or a tablet or mobile device. The service utilizes the cloud technology which makes it scalable, cost effective and easy to deploy. We will provide two types of solutions: • The first solution is just the software used to conduct the video conference service. In this model the client will use our cloud servers and infrastructure, or the Amazon cloud service for international customers • The second solution is to provide the client with a cloud infrastructure hosted at their premises in addition to the client software access. The proposed videoconferencing platform has several innovative features such as: 1. It has a Novel video adaptation algorithm that can adapt the video quality such that it ensures a smooth and a high quality even at low bandwidth and poor network conditions, which facilitates its adoption and make it very suitable for rural and undeserved areas that may not have fast and reliable Internet connection 2. The platform utilizes the cloud, which minimizes the needed infrastructure for customers and provides scalability and cost effective solution
SEE LESS
In the past 2 years, rigorous research and development in the field of video streaming has been conducted, which resulted in a working prototype that works as a proof of concept of the idea of providing good video quality even at low bandwidth .

Problem

students in rural and under-served areas lack the students to students interaction with the other major universities and schools, further, they may not have the same high-quality instructors who are available in the major schools and universities., this fact may degrade the education quality on these areas

Solution

Teletera aims at connecting schools and universities together via scalable video conferencing platform that utilises the up-to-date cloud infrastructure, which provides learners the opportunity to interact with each other and improves the collaboration between themselves. The platform utilizes a Novel algorithm that can adapt the video quality according to the network bandwidth and conditions in a way that ensures smooth and good video quality, even at low bandwidth conditions.

Target Beneficiaries

university and school universities, learners, educators, training centers, refugees located in the refugees' camps with limited access to educational resources

Mission and Vision

To provide cost-effective, reliable, scalable video conferencing tool to connect universities and schools together and to enhance the educational process in the local communities, especially in the rural and underserviced areas.

Competitive Advantage

Teletera has many competitors; the most important one is Cisco and Skype. Cisco system is offering a very expensive solution that is not customized to Jordan (taking into account the cultural and language aspects), while our solution will be much cheaper and also customised to the Jordanian needs taking into account creating an Arabic enabled user Interface that facilitates the system usage. Another potential competitors is the freely available video conferencing services such as Skype. Below is a brief comparison with Teletera and skype. • Skype may disconnect the video conferencing session if the network quality is bad, while the Teletera with its intelligent algorithm will adapt the video quality with congested network conditions in real-time, • Teletera platform gives the users the ability of saving the videos of the conference sessions for achieving purposes and off-line viewing which is not available with other video conferencing services such as Skype.
