SOL5 is an autonomous and powerful production unit allowing entrepreneurs in developing countries to use solar concentration with integrated applications to process food.

The solution is built locally with local materials. The solution can be maintained by users. The solution can be scale up to industry.

2,7 billion people need heat daily to process food for their business activity. They are mainly using polluting sources of energy.

We offer a solar solution at the intersection of clean energy, agro-food process and education. Our tech is concentrating the solar heat and the tools to use it in order to produce or transform food.

Target Beneficiaries

BOP, refugees, farmers, communities, SME's.

Mission and Vision

Our goal is to eradicate energy poverty, empower SME’s with solar thermal and minimize the damage of climate change by breaking down the barriers to solar energy access.

Competitive Advantage

By using local material, the costs are heavily reduced. We are not only connecting people to clean heat but with our solution users can save money, protect the environment and be stimulated to develop their activity.

Planned Goals and Milestones

We want to open source our solutions in order to mitigate climate change impact as much as possible by ending energy poverty and reinforcing local growth
Funding Goal1,200,000
Projected Cumulative Lives Impacted1,000,000,000
New Implemented CountriesSenegal, Tunisia
Recruit4 engineers, 6 project managers
New FeatureWith new local partners in these countries, we will show that thousands of entrepreneurs are dynamic and can use solar thermal for more than agro-food (for example ceramics).

The Team Behind the Innovation

We are a team of 6 friends, with only one woman who's co-owner and CEO. We are focused, persistent and we work like an eco-system. Except the CTO who is an engineer, everybody is self taught in this adventure and this is making us very flexible and creative. We enjoy a lot working together because we are highly motivated by altruism and have a positive impact to mitigate climate change effects on vulnerable populations.
