Problem

Context and definition of the problem (findings, needs and opportunities identified) 1- Very weak mechanism of actively promoting reading among schoolchildren 2- Very low profitability of the literary production of the Haitian writers 3- Low opportunity for direct and instant interaction between writers and their readers 4- Low commercial distribution and high purchase price of books for the majority of readership 5- Massive opportunity represented by smartphones widely used in Haiti

Solution

Youngs will be able to purchase a chapter at a very affordable price, through mobile payment (excluding printing, storage and packaging costs). As we know the challenge to motivate youngs to read, each semester, the 3 readers of each book category having produced the most relevant and elaborate comments, in Creole, French or English, for a specific book will be rewarded in kind or in cash, according to the pre-established terms with the authors, and the profile of the readers to be rewarded.

Target Beneficiaries

Adolescents and young people having attended schools but with no access to libraries, due to their isolation in rural areas, also in some urban slums areas, having not enough money to afford good quality books. We also target students and some young professionals who don't always have enouch money to buy a book, or not enough time to spend in library. We include also people who don't have credit card or paypal account yet to buy ebooks.

Mission and Vision

OUR VISION A COMMUNITY where the AUTHOR, the EDITOR and, above all, the READER become more and more RICH thanks to the hidden treasures in the BOOK. OUR MISSION To create, develop and expand a friendly and dynamic community of authors, publishers and readers locally, regionally and globally.

Competitive Advantage

1- Promotion of Local authored books to the local youth 2- Payment option more inclusive than paypal and credit card (90% of haitian youth don't have access to credit card or paypal account 3- Self-rewarding system for the young readers (in kind or in cash depending on the reader profile), as it still difficult for other book promotion effort. 4- Reading will be seen as an easy, light, fragmented, and potentially immediately rewarding effort 5- The app contributes to the reduction of the massive consumption of paper and ink, while contributing to the development of the literary and scientific production market 6- The Haitian readership accesses the content of books at a much more affordable cost. Authors and publishers generate a lot more revenue. Readers or potential readers are motivated to read more because of the ease of access to content. The authors find New sources of inspiration from possible direct interactions with readers on their production
