Project FUEL documents life lessons of people from all around the world and designs them into interactive and performance workshops and art-based initiatives to pass on the learning. We aim to build a community of empathetic human beings who live, learn and share in order to make a meaningful psycho-social and emotional contribution to themselves, and the society at large. FUEL stands for: Forward the Understanding of Every Life Lesson. Project FUEL was started in 2009 by Deepak Ramola. It was incorporated in 2014 following Deepak’s extensive work of teaching and conducting workshops. Through the course of his work, he devised, tested and polished the approach of using life lessons as a unique methodology to teach life skills. Project FUEL’s life skills workshops are unique in their approach wherein the focus is on holistic human development through human learnings from diverse contexts. Our workshops are based on human wisdom collected from people across cultures and contexts, and forwarded through creatively designed projects to a range of audiences. We use creative tools of theatre, spoken word poetry, storytelling, communicative expression, creative writing and art to help internalize the learnings.

Problem

Every person in the world is either seeking solutions or hope or validation in an unbiased, truthful and personal way. The more diverse the perspectives the more choices it presents, and appeals to the person in a unique manner. There are more than seven billion of us on Earth, and there will be no sustainable development if we cannot learn from each other.

Solution

Understanding wisdom through the lens of life lessons is significant because it eliminates the creation of stereotypes and transcends cultural context. Project FUEL focuses on the creation of a knowledge base of human-interest stories to bring a two-fold benefit to the community-to have people relate to someone, by tapping into our natural curiosity in the lives of others, and for long-term understanding and analysis of experiences to navigate through challenges.

Mission and Vision

Project FUEL seeks to be a community of people that lives, learns and shares with the purpose of elevating the life of other people around them. Project FUEL seeks to engage with children, youth and adults, in a myriad of creative ways, as to make meaningful psycho-social, spiritual, emotional contribution/investment to themselves and the society in large.

Competitive Advantage

Project FUEL’s life skills workshops are unique in their approach wherein the focus is on holistic human development through human learnings from diverse contexts. Our workshops are based on life lessons collected from people across cultures and contexts, and forwarded on through creatively designed workshop modules to a range of audience. We use creative tools of storytelling, communicative expression, creative writing and art by designing full length interactive and performance-based activities, exercises and games based on life lessons. Our work contributes towards enhanced emotional quotient, communication skills, embracing ones vulnerability and strength and heightened self-awareness – an element we consider key in positively influencing every area of one’s life. Giving the life of a common person significance and importance is what makes us different. We are filling the need gap of human experience-based learning and attempt to create inclusive, integrated communities.

Planned Goals and Milestones

- Developing an app / user community that makes it easy for people to contribute, share and spread life lessons. - Building long-term partnerships with academic bodies and corporations to build a life skills curriculum that uses Project FUEL’s pedagogy to create continuous and sustainable impact.
