By using pioneering Educational program and bringing children with special needs together with youth-at-risk, My Piece of the Puzzle (MPOTP) unlocks their potential and gives them the tools to become contributing members of society.

• Creating a permanent structure based on weekly meetings (an hour and a half) in a school for youth at risk and in special needs schools in various centers in Israel. The program operate throughout the entire school year with a group of 12 youth at risk and 12 youth with special needs. The meetings include practical tools, formulation and integration between the populations, educational content, a personal work program tailored to the needs of each individual, and some type of contribution to the community. *A summer camp in Israel, with the assistance of the Jordan River Village, scholarships awarded by the Ministry of Education along with the help of special education institutions. * Next year we wil open an agriculturist farm for both populations and preparatory program after finishing highschool.

Problem

Solution

ntegrate children and youth at risk with children and youth with special needs in the framework of joint activities, in order to empower the two populations, ensure optimal development and their successful integration into the community and Israeli society. The organization operates on a number of levels, the main one being the establishment of regularly structured meetings between the two populations within the educational frameworks where the content demonstrated helps empower each individual.

• Create a community which combines the two populations. • Integrating youth at risk together with youth with special needs in order to empower and promote the two populations and improve the chances of optimal integration in different aspects. • Provide a permanent structure that provides youth from both populations with safe and familiar surroundings, enabling them to grow and develop their potential. • Each individual will be granted with a personal tailored program to meet his/her needs.

The Team Behind the Innovation

Founders: •Shaked Karp – She holds degree in law and a degree in psychology. Working in the legal Department of the Israeli Knesset. She served in the IDF as an intelligence investigator. She has worked and promoted many social projects. •Jenna Elbaz - She holds a BA in Criminology and Education and is completing her Master’s Degree. Worked in many educational and social organizations, including at the Jordan River Village for children with diseases, Chairperson of the Students Union.
