Stage 3: Proof of Concept
We are currently testing our revenue models and doing user testing for our devices in various regions of Uganda. We have so far gotten our early adopters and are collecting data to enable us scale further.
Funds Raised to Date
Poor accessibility of ultrasound services in low resource settings because the conventional ultrasound machines are very expensive, power intensive, bulky and sophisticated to use. This makes point of care ultrasound either hard to achieve.
We are developing mobile ultrasound devices coupled with a mobile ultrasound software. The M-SCAN machines are power efficient, affordable and portable. We also offer capacity building through training of frontline health workers in basic ultrasound.
Pregnant women in low resource settings across the globe.
Mission and Vision
Vision:To be top innovators, designers and developers of low cost mobile ultrasound devices for all patients, especially pregnant mothers in resource scarce environments.
Mission: To extend and enhance quality of human life by innovating with integrity for and with communities.
We are more than just traders, we are also social entrepreneurs. Our company in partnership with government, non-government organizations and corporate companies carries out ultrasound camps in rural areas to offer much-needed ultrasound services to pregnant mothers in resource limited settings. We take pride in being able to scan over 100 mothers per camp using our devices and saving countless lives through early detection of risk factors of maternal mortality with timely referrals and follow up done.
Planned Goals and Milestones
We hope to scale to other countries and we have already reached the Kenyan market
|New Implemented Countries||Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan, Somalia|

|New Feature||Colour doppler|
The Team Behind the Innovation
The team is comprised of Kyomuhendo Phyllis, a female radiographer, Menyo Innocent a radiographer as well, Ahimbisibwe Prosper a medical doctor and Nassasira Ivan an Information Systems analyst. We began our journey in 2017 as three students at Makerere University Medical School. We had witnessed several pregnant women die due to risk factors of maternal mortality in the rural areas where. We decided to put an end to this by coming up with our innovation MSCAN which helps in early risk detection
