Lal10 provides sustainable livelihoods to 1200 Indian artisans from 8 low-income states, connecting them to 400+ retailers, by empowering them to do commerce in the global markets using technology, skill training and sustainable, eco-friendly designs

We have planned out the following core functions for this platform:
 1. Order Management-

 2. Inventory Management- This will enable the artisans to list down all the products that they have made in their lifetime, including out-of-stock products. But the module will have the feature to make a product live with a click to manage the products that the artisans have in their inventory. 3. Working Capital- This will provide awareness about and easy access to affordable working capital loans for artisans.
 4. Health Insurance- This will raise awareness among artisans towards the importance of health insurance and help them identify and buy the most beneficial health insurance for themselves.
 5. Community Interaction Interface- This will be focused on creating a community of artisans that will help and solve each other's problems peer-to-peer.

Problem

Supply Problem:
India has 9.1 million artisans. 83% of them don't find access to formal markets. Artisans don't get the right price, the contemporary market, or better designs. Demand Problem:
Global retailers don't work with unorganized artisans due to the uncertainty of quality, cost, and timeliness of orders. Perception Problem:
The exploitative ecosystem causes the younger artisan generations to not pursue the craft. Middleman Problem:
Middlemen exploit artisans to the maximum limit.

Solution

We have skilled and incentivized young artisans to become artisan micro-entrepreneurs called cluster champions. We connect 1200 artisans (70% women) through 28 cluster champions (20 women). We are also creating a technology-enabled platform for artisans to generate demand and manage orders and inventory efficiently. It is a chat-based, easy-to-use, handheld mobile CRM for artisans. Lal10 currently generates over 3000 B2B inquiries from multiple lead generation platforms.

Target Beneficiaries

Direct beneficiaries of our innovation: Artisans - Helps them to digitize their inventory, manage their orders seamlessly like on WhatsApp and opens the global market for them. Cluster Champions (artisan entrepreneurs) - Skills them to be a new generation of tech-enabled craft entrepreneurs, helping in fueling the ecosystem development Organized Retailers - Solves the problem of access to rural artisans for them, opening a window of opportunity for them to curate authentic handicrafts.

Mission and Vision

Mission: Creating sustainable livelihoods for artisans in India, and eventually, around the world. Vision: Digitising the unorganized artisans around the world.

Competitive Advantage

The USP of our handheld mobile CRM is that it: -Organizes how artisans do business, through a simple to use and an intuitive platform like WhatsApp -Provides efficient communication and avoids miscommunication due to interfaces like WhatsApp and traditional Vendor Management Systems -It provides awareness about the grants, loans, and medical insurance available to the artisans. -Allows for multilingual support to help them interact with potential buyers from anywhere around the globe The core differentiators of our model are: Innovation in Design- Lal10 focuses on form and material designs to garner global appeal and value. Cluster Champion Model- The cluster champions ensure that Lal10's artisan network can scale based on demand. Technology-enabled model- With scale, we aim to digitize the artisans' inventory available making the marketplace inventory-light. Quality Control- Our cluster champions are skilled to do quality checks and to deliver products to Lal10 without any defects.

Planned Goals and Milestones

We are in the process of creating a revamped B2B website for attracting demand and streamline the customer flows for the existing clients. The new website will focus on price prediction to reduce the turn-around time for buyers and for creating a regular pipeline of inquiries for the artisans using the mobile CRM. We are also starting to work on the community interaction module and the aggregation portal for loans, working capital, and insurance in the second phase of the artisan application.
