We combine versatile technology with in-country distribution, training, and technical service to equip low-resource hospitals to provide safer surgical care. Gradian’s products, including the Gradian CCV (Comprehensive Care Ventilator) and the Universal Anaesthesia Machine (UAM), are built to work in unreliable settings lacking oxygen and power. We are currently in 700+ health facilities and 30+ countries around the world. The UAM is the world’s first CE-certified anesthesia machine designed to work without electricity and medical oxygen. With a built-in oxygen concentrator, standard connections for other oxygen sources, and key features on battery backup, the UAM uses a combination of continuous-flow and draw-over technologies to deliver general anesthesia safely in any setting. The Gradian CCV is a versatile mechanical ventilator, designed to provide reliable care across a wide range of patient needs and use settings. With its 21-hour battery backup, user-friendly interface, and ability to use any source of oxygen (including room air), the CCV allows clinical teams to maximize limited resources. It delivers invasive and non-invasive ventilation regardless of its surroundings or care context--during large-scale pandemic response efforts such as COVID-19, in an ambulance, Emergency Department, ICU. The CCV’s flexibility of use as a portable unit or stationary workstation allows it to easily follow a patient throughout the continuum of treatment, providing single-ventilator care and limiting the need for multiple ventilators or manual ventilation during inter- and intra-facility transports. Over the last 3 years, Gradian has trained over 1,500 anesthesia and critical care providers, 150 biomedical engineers, and in 2019, surpassed 1 million surgeries supported by our equipment. We scale sustainably across countries and within countries to ensure our presence is not only measured by the breadth of our userbase but also by the depth of our engagement in each country.
