Supporting Afghan women and girls in a time of COVID19

Offered by United Nations Development Programme

Afghanistan is widely impacted by the COVID19 pandemic, and women and girls are particularly affected. Community-level action is essential to meet the needs of women and girls. UN Women Afghanistan is offering grants up to $2,000 for community-led initiatives that support women and girls across Afghanistan.

In this context, UN Women Afghanistan is opening a community driven call for ideas to provide support to women and girls across Afghanistan, with a special focus on the rural and possibly hard to reach areas of the country. Civil society organizations, and women’s rights activists, are encouraged to submit their ideas on how to support women and girls dung the COVID19 pandemic. The selection process involves an online call for ideas where applications will have to briefly describe their proposal. The winners of the best ideas will be further contacted to draft a more detailed proposal including concrete actions for putting their idea into practice. All activities will have to be conducted within the timeframe 1st to 31st July 2020.
