The global objectives of this call for proposals is: to promote the participation of Civil Society in the forestry sector, notably in forestry management and conservation service, as well as to increase the involvement of civil society in the monitoring of Jamaica's budgetary processes and public finance management.

Lead applicant

(1) In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:

• be a legal person and

• be non-profit-making and

• be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation, public sector operator, local authority, international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 156 of the EU Financial Regulation and

• be established in a Member State of the European Union or ACP countries,

This obligation does not apply to international organisations


• be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and

• non-Jamaican organizations must act with at least one Jamaican co-applicant.

Application And Awards Process

To apply to this call for proposals organisations must register in PADOR and submit their application in PROSPECT (see section 2.2.2 of the guidelines). The aim of PROSPECT is to increase the efficiency of the management of the call for proposals and to offer a better service to civil society organisations through a new panel of functionalities such as the on-line submission and the possibility to follow up online the status of their application.
