Type of Grants

  1. 2019 PEPFAR Small Grants call for young men and boys: The PEPFAR Small Grants Program hereby invites creativeproposalstargeted at preventing transmission and reducing new infections in adolescent boys and young men aged 14 to 30+.
    • Proposals should include at least two of the following points:
      • HIV prevention activities among:
        • Adolescent boys aged 14 – 24 years old
        • Young men aged 25 – 29 years old
        • Males 30+ years old
      • Campaigns to address Gender Based Violence and how it contributes to the spread of HIV to the above mentioned groups
      • Community based interventions to address:
        • Male friendly sexual reproductive health activities
      • Interventions aimed at reducing risky sexual behavior among young boys and adult men aged 14 to 30+.
    • Target Audiences: Programs should have a special focus on adolescent boys and young men aged 14 to 30+.
  2. 2019 PEPFAR Small Grants call for key and priority populations: The PEPFAR Small Grants Program hereby invites creative proposals targeted at preventing transmission and reducing new infections among key and priority populations.
    • Proposals should include at least two of the following points:
      • HIV prevention activities among:
        • Key and priority populations
      • Campaigns to address Gender Based Violence and how it contributes to the spread of HIV to the key and priority populations
      • Community based interventions to address:
        • Key and priority populations friendly sexual reproductive health activities
        • Building the capacity of key and priority populations to address stigma and discrimination
      • Interventions aimed at reducing risky sexual behavior among key and priority populations
    • Target Audiences: Programs should have a special focus on key and priority populations

Target Beneficiaries
The grants for this year were focused on young girls, given the designation PEPFAR has made of Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) as a vulnerable group in the response.

Evidence/Proof of ConceptGrantees are encouraged to use an evidence-based, age-appropriate HIV prevention curriculum
Reporting RequirementsGrantees must submit mid-term and final financial and programmatic reports.
OtherNo grants will be awarded to former PEPFAR grantees, unless there are no other organizations that can fulfill the program’s goals.
