Any business in the SME sector that operates in the five business sectors listed above is encouraged to apply to the Incubator using our online application portal through our website.
The POC grants aim to facilitate product development, prototyping, testing and/or piloting of a product or service to enable the entrepreneur to prove that the idea/business model is viable in a technical and commercial sense; and the proposed technologies or business models to be funded under POC must demonstrate potential positive impact to environment and community through mitigation or adaptation to identified climate challenges.
Through an open, competitive pitching process, entrepreneurs within a specific cohort can pitch for POC grants.POC grants will only be provided to applicants with clearly defined results arising from activities funded by the POC grant.
The selection process has three stages, starting with an Expression of Interest, Stages of Assessment, Concluding with a full one-to-one presentation to the GCIC Cohort Selection Panel. This is a highly competitive program.GCIC carefully selects incubatees with the best possible chance of success to meet the Incubator’s objectives as defined by the World Bank.We also want to be sure that we have sufficient space, equipment, resources and finances to support all the entrepreneurs and ventures that come into our Incubator.
