Call for proposal for demand-driven skills training in Palestine

The general objective of this Call for proposals is to improve the transition to employment and self-employment by improving the vocational skills and competences of youth employees or job seekers. This will be achieved through the provision of TVET training at Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) and other not for profit CVET providers, accredited by the Ministry of Labour. These VTC’s will be selected by the Private Sector Umbrella Organizations (PSUOs) and they will develop and provide the training programmes using Work-Based Learning scheme (WBL).

The specific objectives of this Call for proposals are:

  • 1. Identify sectors, trades, and skills to be prioritized in vocational training and 21st century skills development for youth
  • 2. Identify sectors and trades to be prioritized for establishing partnerships between the private sector and vocational training providers
  • 3. Match the skills demand to the supply in the productive sectors existing in the Palestinian labour market via training and guidance
  • 4. Identify capacity gaps of the private sector in terms of vocational training and 21st century skills development of youth for the identified trades and sectors of vocational training centers and the private sector
  • 5. Encourage employers to invest in skills development
